PLAYER PROFILE

Wesley Ngo Baheng was signed by Sam Allardice from French side Le Harve, in January 2008. Wesley’s football career had begun at Le Havre AC; as a junior in their prestigious academy in July 2005; aged only 15.  He was brought up in France & his parents originated from the Cameroon. In January 2007 he was offered a trial at Bolton Wanderers but this did not work out without him making an appearance. It also led to problems in France on his return as to whether he had permission to go & his troubled return journey. It was in 2007 that Wesley was promoted into the B Team at Le Havre, but unfortunately no details are available of any appearances. In October 2007 Wesley signed provisionally for Newcastle United, but under FIFA rules on age, he could not complete the deal until the turn of the year. It was on January 8th.2008 that he finally signed for an undisclosed fee with compensation package agreed with Le Havre. At Newcastle, Baheng immediately began to establish himself in the reserve side & made his debut for the second string on January 10th.2008 as an outside right, in a 3:1 defeat to Sunderland. The c
lub gave him the 32 squad number, which he would keep for the duration of his time at Newcastle. Baheng got his first goal in their Barclays Premier Reserve League (North) campaign on March 10th. in a 3:1 win over Blackburn Rovers, playing the rest of the season in his familiar inside left position. He also scored a last minute equaliser in a 2:2 draw with Bolton Wanderers on March 22nd. after coming on as a sub. His last appearance in the reserves league fixtures that season was on March 31st when they drew 1:1 with Manchester United. They ended the 2007-08 season in a disappointing 8th place in the league of 10 clubs & Baheng featured in 9(+1) of their matches.  He took part in the sides Northumberland Senior Cup run, beginning with their match against North Shields on January 30th when they won the 2nd round tie 3:0. He then hit the winning goal in the extra time in the hard fought semi final tie against Whitley Bay on March 6th. In the final on April 23rd. against Blyth Spartans, Wesley got through the first half injury free, but with 55 minutes played he was badly injured.  The match ended in a 1:1 draw after extra time, with the young Newcastle reserve side managing to win the penalty shoot out 4:3; to lift the trophy. The injury proved to be a serious crucial ligament one & he would be out of action for many months. Wesley did not feature in any competitive academy fixtures that season.

As the 2008-09 season progressed Wesley began to slowly recover & regain his fitness & he made his comeback in the side on March 2nd  in the reserves Northumberland FA. Senior Cup 2nd Round 5:0 victory over Team Northumbria. He came on as a sub on the hour & soon after scored a goal. He also featured in the semi final 2:1 semi final win over Newcastle Benfield on April 14th ; & scored his sides opening goal. Unfortunately he sat out on the bench as an unused sub. in their cup winning final. Wesley also got to featured in the sides ending of their Premier Reserve League (North) campaign, firstly as a sub. on March 10th in a 1:1 draw with Hull City. He then got a start against Everton on March 16th & they won 2:1. By the end of the season he had featured in 4(+1) appearances in the league, culminating on April 29th when they lost 5:1 to Liverpool; ending the season in 4th place. Baheng also played in 3 Premier Academy League Group D games, with the clubs Academy side. The first of these appearances was on March 7th in a 3:0 defeat to Leeds United. He scored in the third & final game of the season when they beat Sheffield Wednesday 3:1 on April 3rd; continuing his comeback from the serious knee injury which kept Baheng out of action throughout a lot of the 2008-09 season. Wesley  was given the chance to prove his fitness with a selection into the first team for their first friendly of the pre season 2009-10. He travelled with the squad to Ireland & put in an assured performance in his friendly debut for Newcastle in their 3:0 victory over Shamrock Rovers. He featured in the first half side in a game which ended in a 3:0 victory on July 11th. He quickly followed up this success in a reserve XI, tackling a difficult Ashington side & beating them 3:2 on July 15th.  His impact in the game was almost immediate scoring after only 2 Minutes & later in the game set up another of his sides goals. During the pre season, Baheng was next in action for the reserves on July 22nd. when he bagged one of his sides goals in a 3:1` win over Whitley Bay. On August 4th, he was on the score sheet again hitting his sides second goal in a 4:2 win over Blyth Spartans on August 4th. His early pre season performances with darting runs from the midfield, led to a further first team selection onto the bench in pre season but he did not get a further start. Baheng also scored in a mid season reserves ‘behind closed friendly’ with Hibs. On December 16th; which ended in a  2:2 draw. As the season got underway, Baheng featured for the reserves from their opening totesport.com. League: East Division game on September 8th. Here he scored his sides only goal in a 1:0 win over Bradford City. In their next game he scored twice in a 4:2 win over Huddersfield Town. In total he scored 7 league goals, the last of which was on April 20th. in a 5:1 win over Huddersfield Town. He then featured starting on April 27th; in a 2:0 win over Rotherham before coming on as a sub. in a 3:0 win over Grimsby Town on April 29th. In total Baheng made 9(+1) reserve league appearances, & also played in the Northumberland Senior Cup 3rd. Round 3:1 defeat to Whitley Bay on March 9th. Wesley scored the only Newcastle goal in the game after 11 minutes. Wesley was released by Newcastle in May 2010. In July he began trials with FC. Nurenburg of Germany but this fell through.

On July 22nd he next had a trial with Belgium side KV. Mechelen. He appears to have not featured here & this unsuccessful trial was followed by others; at Amiens SC of France & with Faro in Portugal. At the end of October Wesley was back in England, beginning a trial with Gateshead. Although he failed to get a start in the first team he did feature twice for the reserves. These games were on November 10th, featuring at inside left in a 4:2 victory over Grimsby Town in the Totesport.Com Central League; scoring with a great strike & also hitting the bar with another effort. His other game for them was on November 15th when they lost 3:2 to Lincoln City. The trial did not work out & later that month he was offered a short term contract with Aldershot Town. Here he made his senior debut on November 27th in a FA Cup 2nd Round 2:0 defeat to Dover Athletic; having come on as a sub. in the 86 minute. He next came on as an 81st minute Sub. in a Division II 1:0 defeat to Rotherham United on December 11th. In January he featured as a sub. for them in 2 further league matches; on January 3rd in a 2:1 defeat to Hereford United & then on January 8th. when they lost 2:1 to Oxford United. He now left Aldershot on January 19th. & joined Hereford United soon after on a ‘week to week’ contract’ later in the month. On January 28th he made his first team debut for them as an 89th minute sub. in an English  Division II, 3:1 victory over Torquay United. Throughout February he was an unused substitute at Hereford & on March 12th. he got a further chance to come on late game, which Hereford lost 2:1 to Barnet. Unfortunately, Wesley was not given another opportunity in the first team & he left soon after in March 2011. That summer on July 1st he signed for a small French club called Le Blanc Mesnil Sporting Football. However, his senor debut for them appears to have been until November due to injury. Here he featured on November 28th. 2011, as a sub in a 1:1 with Les Ulis. A week later he got his first goal for them with a second half winner in a 1:0 win over Racing Levallois. Wesley’s last appearance for them seems to have been on June 3rd. 2012. He ended on a high with club just missing out one winning their league; defeating RSL Montrevil 2:0. In June he was released by the club. He next had an unsuccessful trial with Le Havre Neiges in late June, but left early July & began training on trial with French CFA Ligue 2 Group A side FC Dieppe. He signed for them on July 29th. & made his competitive league debut for them on August 25th. 2012. He featured at outside left in their 4:1 win over Ailly-Sur-Somme. A month later on September 22nd. Wesley scored his first goal with 46th minute effort; with the side imposing a heavy 7:0 defeat Boulogne II. Baheng is establishing himself in the side & the rest of the season is looking good for him & his new club.  FC Dieppe had a marveloous season in the CFa Ligue 2 Group A & Wesley assisted his club to win the league; scoring 9 goals along the way. He hit a brace as the season drew to close on May 11th in a 2:2 draw with Sedan Ii. A wek later May 18th he got his last goal of the season with a title clinching 1:0 win over Iris Club De Croix. He was replaced early in the second half (possibly injured) & to date he is yet to play for FC Dieppe. One other match he featured in during the 2012-13 season was a 9th Round Coupe De France game with Nantes,. They lost the match 3:2 after a closely fought tie; with Wesley being a 75th minute sub. He was treated for a injury during the 2013-14 season & only returned to the side for their last game of the season as a sub on May 24th. in a 3:1 win over Ivry. Wesley’s final game for Dieppe came at the beginning of the 2014-15 season. This was on August 16th. in a CFA lerague match. This was against Romorantin & they lost 1:0. Baheng was a sub in the 82nd minute. On September 2nd 2014 Wesley Baheng was transferred to fellow French CFA side UJA Paris Maccabi. He made his debut in a league match soon after on September 20th. They won 1:0 verses Aulnoye & he played the full match. He only scored one goal that season on February .14th.2015, in a 2:0 victory over Aulnoye. His goal came in the 84th minute. That season he featured in 14 (+6) CFA league matches for UJA, the last of which was on May 16th as a sub; when they lost 2:0 to Villemomble Sports. The club ended season in 11th place in the French CFA Group D league. On July 1st 2015, Wesley was givcen a free transfer to his home town club of Blanc Mesnil. No details of any league appearances have come to light; however; he featured in the sides cup ruin;& scored on December 5th in a 3;0 victory over Mainvilliers.  He also played in their 9th Round tie with Nantes which they lost 2;0. So far to date no appearances during the 2016-17 season are known.

Wesley Ngo Baheng has another interest outside of football as a ‘rapper’ musican called ‘F.I. K’ass’. He produced a rap solo album in 2009 entitled ‘Time To Smash’. He has recently jointly  produced a down loadable musical & visual composition with singer Jamilah Hassan called ‘When the sun goes down’. This musical composition was produced in 2010.
