His first appearance that season was on September 21st when Bradford lost 2:0 to Bolton Wanderers. His first goal was scored on November 2nd in a 5:1 defeat to Sunderland & his last was hit on March 29th in a 4:1 victory over Everton. His last appearance that season was soon after when they lost 4:0 to Derby County & Bradford ended the season in 13th place in Division I. He featured also in their one FA. Fox had a similar record in the side for the following season; making a further 33 league appearances, scoring 9 league goals; although he featured more at inside left than right. He featured in their opening 0:0 draw with Aston Villa on September 6th. & opened his goal scoring account on September 20th; getting the winner in 2:1 victory over Sheffield United. It was on November 22nd. that he bagged his biggest tally of goals in a game so far, when he hit 4 in his sides 5:1 thrashing of Bolton Wanderers. The last of his goals that season came on February 14th when Bradford beat Tottenham Hotspur 2:1. The side ended the season with Fox in the side, on April 27th with a 2:2 draw with Burnley & a 9th place finish. He played in both his sides FA. Cup games; which were January 10th when they knocked out Woolwich Arsenal 2:0 in the 1st Round; before they exited from the competition on January 31st when they lost 1:0 to Millwall.

It was also during the early part of the 1913-14 season that Fox scored a goal in a Players Union XI victory over Newcastle United in a friendly at St. James Park on September 10th.1913. The 1914-15 season which was the prelude to the Great War saw Oscar Fox have perhaps his best season with Bradford City & he played in 36 of the sides 38 league matches; hitting 17 goals. He featured in the sides opening 4:1 defeat to Manchester City on September 1st & then got his first goal in the following game, when his goal assisted his side defeat Burnley 1:0 on September 5th. He was also on the score sheet when his side beat West Brom. 5:0 on December 19th; with final goal that season being scored on April 10th in a 1:1 draw with Sunderland. Despite the impressive score lines of some the games, the side only marginally improved on their league position; ending in 10th place; following a 3:0 to Bradford PA. on April 28th. He also featured in 3 of the sides FA. Cup ties which began with their 1st Round 1:0 win over Darlington on January 9th. He was then in the side that knocked out Middlesbrough 1:0 in the 2nd Round on January 30th; before featuring in the side that lost 1:0 to Everton in the 4th Round on March 6th.

With normal football suspended & war time football underway, Fox remained with Bradford as the 1915-16 season commenced playing in the Midland Section’s principal war league competition. He featured in their opening 2:0 win over Leicester Fosse on September 4th & scored the first two of 8 goals in the competition on September 18th. when they defeated Lincoln City 6:2. His last was scored on February 19th. when they beat Nottingham Forest 2:0, before winding up their fixtures much later with a final game on April 21st. when they beat Barnsley 6:2 & finished in 4th place in the league. The club also featured in a Midland Section Supplementary Competition (Northern Group) & Fox added a further 10 appearances to his 13 from the previous league competition. In this first game he scored one of the goals in a 2:1 win over Huddersfield Town on March 4th. The goal would the first of 4 in the competition; the last of which was obtained on April 24th, when they lost 4:2 to Bradford Park Avenue. He also played in the next game, which was the final match of the season; when they lost 4:2 to Leeds City. They also finished in 4th place in that league.

At the beginning of the 1916-17 Oscar continued in the side but after their first six matches his appearances became only occasional. His first that season in the Midland Section Principal Competition was on September 2nd when they lost 4:1 to Sheffield United; scoring his sides only goal. This would be only one of two that season with the other being scored on January 13th in a 3:1 win over Rotherham. The last of his 10 games in that competition was on February 10th when they beat Bradford Park Avenue 1:0. The side eventually finished their fixtures in 8th place. In the supplementary competition Fox only got to play in the final game which was on April 21st when they suffered a 5:1 defeat at the hands of Leeds City. His brother G.Fox was also in the side that season. At the end of the 1915-16 season Fox was selected to play in a war fund match for an English XI against a Scottish XI at Valley Parade in Bradford. The game on May 6th ended in a 4:4 draw with Fox scoring twice. During the early months of the 1916-17 season, Fox seems to have been based for a time in the North East. His army rank was Sergeant & he turned out for the Tyne Garrison in a fund raising match at St. James Park. This was in a 5:0 win against a Munitions XI on October 14th.1916; which included McCracken & a number of other Newcastle players. Fox had an outstanding game scoring a hat trick for the Garrison side.  On November 11th. Sgt. Oscar Fox played for Bill McCracken’s XI in the benefit match for the widow of Newcastle Chairman John Cameron. They lost the game 2:0 to a League XI. On December 2nd he was selected to play in another fund raising match; this time for a Yorkshire XI against a Lancashire XI. The game took place in Manchester & his side lost 3:0.

During the 1917-18 season Oscar only got to play 5 more wartime games for Bradford City, all in Midland Section Principal Competition fixtures. The first of these was the sides opening 2:0 defeat to Sheffield United on September 1st. He obtained one further goal & this was scored on September 15th when they beat Leeds City 3:2. The sides next game also featured Fox at inside right when they lost to Leeds City on September 22nd & it would not be until February 16th when he returned to make his fifth & final war league appearance for the club. This was against Huddersfield Town & they lost 2:0. He would not be seen in competitive action again for Bradford City until normal domestic football returned.

After the Great War ended Oscar Fox continued on with his Bradford City career until the end of the 1921-22 season. At the start of the 1919-20 season Fox made the first 29 league appearances in Bradford’s opening 3:1 defeat to Liverpool on August 30th. He scored 8 goals in the league that season, getting his first on September 20th in a 3;1 win over Derby County. The goals included two against Sunderland in a 2:0 win on October 18th. He also hit another two in the sides 3:1 win over Chelsea on January 24th & scored his last of the season on April 10th in a 2:1 defeat to Sheffield United. He featured in their final league game of the season on May 1st when they beat Burnley 2:1 completing their fixtures in 15th position in the league. Fox also played in 3 of Bradford’s FA Cup games, scoring in their first on January 17th. in a 2:0 win over Portsmouth. He then played in their 2nd Round 2:1 win over Sheffield United on January 31st & also featured on March 6th when they lost a 4th Round tie with Bristol City 2:0. Season 1920-21 saw Fox add another 21 league appearances to his tally, mostly at inside right. He scored in the opening match of the season when they defeated Burnley 4:1 on August 28th. This was first of 7 league goals during the campaign & he scored the last two on February 16th. in a 2:2 draw with Bolton Wanderers. The following game would be his last that season on February 19th when they drew 0:0 with Liverpool. The side completed their fixtures in 15th place. During the clubs poor 1921-22 season, veteran Fox only got to play in one further first team game. This was on January 14th.1922 in a 2:1 defeat to Liverpool. This would be his last senior appearance for Bradford City & at the end of that season the club were relegated. In total Oscar Fox made 172 senior competitive appearances for Bradford City; 161 of which were in the league, scoring 58 goals, 57 of which were in the league. In addition to this he also made 39 war league competition appearances for Bradford scoring 15 goals.  When they played Middlesbrough in the league on October 16th 1920, the match also acted his benefit match & £540 was raised for him to retire. Bradford lost 1:0. After leaving the game, back in his home town of Sheffield; Fox took up work in a local billiard hall. His son, Oscar (Junior) also grew up to play for both Sheffield Wednesday & Mansfield Town. Oscar Fox (Senior) died not long after the end of the Second World War, in October 1947.
